Introduction
PR Monitor is a tool designed for helping you to keep track of changes for your web site's PageRank.
We have tried to keep it as simple as possible to use, so that everyone could use it. You will only need to include an image somewere in the page(s) you want to track, and our system will begin to check all your PR changes.
PR Monitor will check your PR values in to ways:
- Continuous update
- Everytime your page is visited, our system will check actual PR for that page, so you could be informed of changes at the same instant they happen.
- Periodical updates
- For less visited pages, time for automatic checking periods will vary depending of the total number of pages in our database and time since last massive PR update. At this time, since GG has not updated visible PageRank for more than 90 days (the longest period ever !), automatic checkings are done on a daily basis.
When Google will modify PageRank for some of your monitored pages, you will receive an email with the URL of the affected pages, your old PR, and your new PR.
In order to not to send you lots of emails, we will only send you a maximum of ONE email a day with a report including all your addresses that has modified their PageRank.
Obviously while your PR remains unchanged, we will not send you anything =)
I hope you find this tool useful for your needs. I have made it because Page Rank has become quite important for SEO, and it seems that Google has not updated their Toolbar's PR from many time now, so I am tired to check all my websites to see if there has been some changes (coding is a useful tool for lazy people ;) ). Also, when we will have enought information, we will share it by, for example, creating graphs and reports of how many pages has changed their PR over the time in order to being informed of future updates periods.
If you ave any comments / suggestions / features requests, etc, you can send an email to prmonitor@alojamiento-web.org
Please, include the text "PR Monitor" in the subject of your email.
How it works
For keeping track of your pages' PageRank, you only will have to place ONE of the following codes in the page you want to monitor:
- Invisible checker:
-

<IMG ALT="PageRank"SRC="http://www.alojamiento-web.org/PRMonitor/PageRank.gif?m=your@email.com" height=1 width=1 border=0></A> - Visible PageRank (example
): -
<A HREF="http://www.alojamiento-web.org/">
<IMG ALT="PageRank"SRC="http://www.alojamiento-web.org/PRMonitor/PageRank.gif?m=your@email.com&pr=true" height=6 width=50 border=0></A>
The first time that you (or someone's else) visit that page, it will be added to our index and we will send you a confirmation email, just to be sure that you want to receive your reports by email.
You will have to click on the confirmation link that you'll find inside this email for receiving this reports.
Please, note that you will be sent only one confirmation email and after that, you will be able to add our monitor to every page you want.
And that's all. With this 2 simple steps you will be always informed of your PageRank Status ! :)
Why do we use images for PR Monitor ?
Some people has asked me: "Why the tool does not simply ask for my URL list instead of having to include one image inside every page ?"
PR Monitor works this way for 2 reasons:
- This is the easiest way for including this tool into your pages so that everyone, even less technical users could use it. There is no registration form and I really hate to build lists of URL.. is too bored
- Many websites builds dinamically with TONS of URL (most using mod_rewrite), so it is a pain in the *** to write down every URL. Obviously I could go to GG and see what pages are indexed, but by placing one image inside every page makes this process automatically.
When someone visits a page, it is added to the list. Period. :)
